Avia Solutions Group, a group of business aviation companies, received the ‘Golden Chariot’ pub­lic award for the outstanding per­formance in international transport industry in Russia. On the 12th of September 2012 the award was pre­sented to Avia Solutions Group chair­man of the board Gediminas Zieme­lis in Kremlin Palace, Moscow.

According to G.Ziemelis, although Avia Solutions Group is one of the largest companies in Eastern Eu­rope, it is not very large on the Rus­sian scale. Nevertheless the compa­ny largely contributes to accelerating the development of the fleet,train­ing professionals, maintaining the existing aircraft and consulting on Russian aircraft fleetchangingtowestern ones.

International transport awards “Golden Chariot” were established in 2005 by the Russian Duma and the Ministry of Transport and Communi­cations. The project was launched in order to contribute to the develop­ment of transport companies, en­courage innovations and strengthen international communication among different economic sectors. This year the winner received the seventh ‘Golden Chariot’.

Last year Avia Solutions Group owned MRO service provider FL Technics was recognised for the performance in the field of aircraft maintenance. Additionally, Gedimi­nas Ziemelis, the Board Chairman of Avia Solutions Group, was named ‘Personality of the Year’. These titles were given by Aviaport.ru, an influ­ential Russian aviation website, and Vzlet magazine that rated the major Russian aviation events and best aviation businesses in 2010.
