In May 2010 the Lithuanian Civil Aviation Administration has issued to the Baltic Aviation Academy an approval certificate to operate the type rating training for Embraer ERJ-145 family aircraft (ERJ 135/140/145).

The ground training courses will be organized at Baltic Aviation Academy facilities in Vilnius. Flight training will be carried out on ERJ-145 Full Flight Simulator (FFS) in Paris. The training centre has signed the cooperation agreements with qualified instructors from Sweden, Slovenia and Italy.

"The decision to start ERJ-145 type rating training has been taken in the light of market analysis and needs of our customers. Aviation market and aircraft fleets operated by airlines are changing quite rapidly and the package of educational services depends on the predominant types of aircraft in a specified region. Currently, the Central and Eastern European aviation market is dominated by several regional aircraft types, and one of the most popular is the Embraer 145. In Ukraine there have been already operated 15 aircrafts of this type, two aircrafts will operate in Kazakhstan. Our records show that by mid-2011 airlines will operate 20 Embraer 145 type aircrafts in Russia and they all will need crews "- explains Lina Rutkauskiene, Chief Executive Office of Baltic Aviation Academy.

According to L. Rutkauskiene, the first ERJ-145 type rating group of students should arrive in the early June 2010.

Embraer 145 (ERJ 135/140/145) is the family of regional jets, produced by Brazilian company Embraer. This type of aircraft is quite popular in the USA, in Europe they are operated by the British Airways, Air France, LOT, Alitalia and other airlines.

Baltic Aviation Academy in addition to Embraer 145 also organizes type rating training for Boeing 737, Boeing 757, Boeing 767, Saab 2000, Saab 340, ATR-42, ATR-72 and operates Full Flight Simulators in Vilnius, Paris, Madrid, Toulouse and Minneapolis.
